

Rising but no smell please help:(
My sourdough starter is 28 days old at the moment. It used to have the fragrant smell + the alcohol smell after feeding, but in the last 4 days, it stopped smelling like anything (it just smells like nothing, not even flour? there is a slight old smell to it though but I wouldn't say it smells like old socks or smelly at all, and there is no alcohol smell even after falling. I'm worried there is something wrong with it. However, it is still rising and falling after every feeding.
Details about my starter:
Wholemeal flour starter
I use filtered water
I feed it 1:3:3 twice daily because it seems to consume the food quite fast
The current temperature is 18ºC
I usually keep 10grams of starter
I have asked someone else and they told me to try feeding it 1:5:5 and keeping only 5g of starter. I have been doing that the past 2 days but still no change
What else I have changed recently:
I saw someone feeding their sourdough in a separate bowl and putting the starter in a new jar every feeding
I tried their method and fed my sourdough in a cup (mixing it) and putting the starter back in after washing the original jar (with no soap, only water).
I'm not sure if that could be the problem? I'm worried my starter is dying, and I'm not doing the correct thing when feeding it.
Another thing I have noticed is that before I changed to the clean jar method, my starter does not fall after rising but I can tell that it is hungry since there was the alcohol smell. But after changing the feeding method, I can see that my starter falls but does not leave much residue on the side of the jar. There is one faint line on top at where it had been when it peaked. Is that something of note?
