I have recently started seeing a girl who is really into cycling. She’s doing a really cool cross-country program this summer. I like her a lot and I want to give her a small gift the day before she leaves but I have no idea what a cute, small gift would be for someone who will be living out of a backpack for the next couple months!

Hello! I’m a first time renter and I’ve signed a lease with 3 other people for a 4 bedroom place close to my university. My lease starts this august, but I’m subletting from the girl currently living in my room for a few months until school starts up again.
All of my roommates are leaving for the summer, but I got a text from one of them saying they talked about splitting expenses and decided I should pay full utilities for the few months I’m here subletting. I was not included in this conversation, so I already felt slighted.
But they also said that they were initially planning on just splitting the cost of utilities over the summer because they weren’t going to suspend them. I honestly have no problem paying my fair share of the utilities since I’ll be in the apartment by myself for a few months. But I don’t think it’s a fair share since I don’t really have a choice. They’re all significantly wealthier than me and their parents pay their bills+utilities for them. I am staying in my crappy summer town in an empty apartment because I’m broke, and working part time alongside being a full time student. It’s not like I can just choose to air condition only my room. And I doubt they want to calculate the exact cost of how much energy/water I’ll be using, which is very likely going to be negligible little considering I am a total cheapskate, only take 15 minute showers, and will be more than happy to turn off the AC if it means a lower electricity bill.
I personally don’t think they should be able to just stop paying for the bills they were going to pay anyway just because they have the privilege of being able to go home and vacation over the summer.
I really don’t know how to navigate this situation so any advice would be nice! :(
