diploma/certificate notarization & apostille
for those who got their diploma's apostilled, ¿how did you go about it?
i have a certificate from last year that i need to get apostilled。 i also graduate this month (spring 2026), and i'll also need to get my diploma apostilled。
on april 24th, diploma@kennesaw.edu said to place a replacement diploma order thru parchment for the certificate and to select the apostille option, so i did。
the following day (april 25th) i replied to diploma@kennesaw.edu since the graduation diploma webpage said to email them to coordinate document collection as the second step after submitting the order。 i also asked whether i would receive an electronic version of the apostilled certificate (this may have been an ignorant question)。 as of today (may 11th), diploma@kennesaw.edu did not reply to this email。
on may 1st parchment notified me thru email that KSU processed my order。 the digital credential on the apostille order turned out to be identical to the digital credential i received last year。
today (may 11th) i emailed diploma@kennesaw.edu and registrar@kennesaw.edu asking whether i can take the certificate i already have to the registrar's office to get it notarized so that i can then take it to the GSCCCA to get it notarized。 i also asked whether there's a tracking number on my order。
i received the physical order later today (may 11th) but everything in the envelope is identical to the envelope i received last year。 so i emailed diploma@kennesaw.edu and registrar@kennesaw.edu telling them that my apostille-selected order is no different than the one i already had。
the registrar's office seems to be unreachable via phone call。
¿so how i actually get my certificate and later diploma apostilled? ¿do i simply take them to the registrar's office? ¿can i get them notarized by any notary? ¿can get it notarized at some notaries and not others? going to the GSCCCA to get it apostilled seems straightforward enough but i'd appreciate any and all relevant information
may 12th update: diploma@kennesaw.edu and registrar@kennesaw.edu got back to me and apparently i uninformedly changed the delivery address of the order from the registrar's office to my domicile。 so they said to take my certificate to the registrar's office for notarization/authentication when there's a notary there。
i still don't understand why i was told to place an order for a replacement certificate if i could've just taken the certificate that i already had to the registrar's office。 i could've gotten it notarized when i was still commuting to campus on a parking permit
