Obligatory bird tax. The white boy, Gizmo, is my established parakeet. We've had him since August, and he's been by himself. A bit wild, a bit of an asshole, but I love him. The yellow boy is brand new, less than 3 months old, named Fidget. I've successfully gotten him to be in the cage with Gizmo, and they aren't fighting, there's no bullying, but I'm wondering if I should leave them alone in a cage to bond together, or continue trying to handle both of them? If Fidget tries to land near Gizmo- which he does often, because he already loves his big brother- Gizmo will fly away, cussing in parakeet. Suggestions? I really want them to bond so Fidget can get at Gizmo's pin feathers, because he wont let me touch him without a fight and ol' boy is looking rough after his recent molt. Leave em.alone, or handle them normally?
