Hi guys,

I was battling with pilonidal sinus and abscesses for 7-8 years before I found out about and decided to do cleft lift away from home, in another country.

I was very happy with outcome, as I was back to normal activity in 5-6 weeks.

Fast forward a year, I experienced a very painful abscess - chills, fever, fatigue and weakness overall for a week. Then I realized the worst could be happening again. I contacted my doctor who did cleft lift and he said that could be anal abscess as it is much lower than tailbone.

Anyways, I got antibiotics and pain passed. Couple months later, I start to notice faul smell and "mess" on my underwear that is not usual in any way, and I realize I have puss and sinus again.

As to my knowledge (which is internet based) this is pilonidal as it is right under the scar of previous surgery, and it is located in a "pocket", because cleft cannot completely flatten your butt, you will always have a deep cleft somewhere.

The doctor says it is not pilo (but only based on photos).

Not sure why I post this, probably to share with you who have same problems as me, and to give some advice or comfort.

I am not sure what to do anymore because the doctor who done my surgery is 2 countries away and he tells me that is not pilonidal. Seems like he doesnt want to help unless I pay a lot of money again, and not sure if i want to go to him as he didnt resolve my problem at first.
