I have been living in my apartment for a little over a year with my 7 year old. It’s just the two of us.
My neighbors above us consist of a woman (80’s), her son (60’s), and sometimes his daughter (15ish). The man and his mother are constantly fighting. Several nights a week, they are screaming, throwing things, crashes, loud thuds. It’s super concerning and it terrifies my child.
I’ve had to call the cops several times and other neighbors have also called the cops on them. One time, one of them was taken by ambulance after being hit on the head with a bottle. Last week, they were screaming about cigarette burns on their hands. Nothing is ever done and no one is ever arrested. I’ve also heard the teen daughter being screamed at and sounded like she was being hurt.
I’ve sent 5 or so (very detailed) emails to my apartment manager and had conversations with them about this situation. I’ve sent proof of the woman screaming for help, the cops being at the apartment doing interviews, ring doorbell footage, etc. They keep saying it’s “being taken care of”. This is still happening almost a year after being here.
What can I do? I am so tired of hearing this and the anxiety that it brings my child and I multiple nights during the week. Not to mention, we have to be up early and this goes on through the night sometimes.
