May 6, 2026 – The Charlotte Hornets announced today that guard Brandon Miller underwent surgery to address left shoulder instability. Miller is expected to make a full recovery. He will be out indefinitely and additional updates on his status will be provided as appropriate.
In his third NBA season, Miller averaged a team-leading 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 30.3 minutes per game, starting all 65 appearances. Miller shot a career-high 38.3% from beyond the arc and totaled 204 3-pointers made last season, helping the Hornets become the fourth team in NBA history with three players to each make 200 3-pointers in a season. He ranked ninth in the NBA in free throw percentage at 89.2%.
Miller was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the first time in his career on Feb. 2 after averaging 26.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game and shooting 51.6% from the field, 50% from three-point range and 100% from the free-throw line, while leading Charlotte to a 4-0 record. He posted a team-leading 38 20-point games and entered the franchise’s top 10 all-time in 3-pointers made (492) and 3-point percentage (.373% 3P) last season.
