Has anyone here used one of those “unlimited bills included” student utility companies?
Moving into a student house soon and keep seeing companies like one utility bill, fused / split bills etc... where you pay one fixed amount each month and apparently get “unlimited” energy, broadband, water etc.
I’m a bit confused by the appeal tbh. Whenever I compare it to just setting up bills ourselves, it seems way more expensive. But I also get that chasing housemates for money, arguing about heating, submitting meter readings and sorting broadband is a massive pain. But surely we still have to submit a meter reading and setup our own broadband box?
Has anyone here actually used one of these services? Was it worth the extra money??Or did you feel ripped off?
Also, if you chose one, what was the main reason? Was it parents wanting a fixed cost, avoiding housemate drama, not knowing how much bills would be, or something else?
Not trying to judge, genuinely trying to understand why people go for them when they look so pricey.
