The Governor declared a State of Emergency on electric bills and another rate hike is still coming in June anyway

NJ rates went up over 33% in just two years. Sherrill signed emergency orders on Day 1. Froze some hikes. Issued bill credits. And yet the PJM capacity auction already locked in another increase effective June 2026. The credits are basically a band-aid on a broken pipe. PSE&G, JCP&L, ACE customers what's your bill actually hitting right now? Curious how bad it's gotten across different parts of the state

JEA is considering another rate increase on May 19 after a reported $107M budget shortfall

Was reading into this today and didn’t realize JEA is moving toward another potential rate increase tied to a reported $107M budget gap. Apparently the electric side alone accounts for around $61.5M of it. What caught my attention is the timing — we’re heading into another Jacksonville summer and people are already posting $300–$400+ bills before peak heat even hits. Looks like public comments are expected during the May 19 board meeting process.Feels like utility costs here have become harder to predict every year. Anyone else following this?

Tampa summer + TECO rates = pain

Wild that we got slammed by Helene and Milton and TECO’s response was basically “you’ll be paying for this monthly.” The storm surcharge alone added about $20/month to bills for a lot of people. So we survive the hurricanes and then get billed for the cleanup too. And even when the surcharge finally ends next year, the regular rate increases will probably eat those savings right back up anyway. It’s barely May and already hitting 90°. Summer bills are gonna be brutal.
How are y’all mentally preparing for the July TECO bill?
