I guess this film counts as a Pride and Prejudice variation! I liked it.
AUSTENLAND starring Keri Russell and JJ Feild star as modernised versions of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.

IN 1813, JANE AUSTEN PUBLISHED HER NOVEL- PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.
It is a love story. Yes. But this novel is also so much more.
Watch this short video (the link is below) if you have ever asked yourself why the message of this novel has survived and thrived over the past two centuries.

Read this article to discover how a Chinese proverb from the 1300s about distance, horses, time and human nature is the message of Jane Austen's most famous novel- Pride and Prejudice.

Countdown to the upcoming Netflix series!
COUNTDOWN TO NETFLIX
With the new Netflix Pride and Prejudice series just weeks away, I've been thinking about why we love it so much and why its story refuses to age.
Pride and Prejudice was published in 1813. Your great-great-great-grandmother may even have read it!
So I decided to design 20 questions, one per week, on our beloved timeless classic- Pride and Prejudice.
And by the time we have worked our way through these 20 questions, hopefully Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden will be ready to dazzle us with their versions of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
So without further ado, let’s begin!
QUESTION #20: Bingley is kind, handsome, and wealthy, yet he is often overshadowed by Darcy. Can you explain why so many readers admire Darcy more than Bingley?

If you can handle complete honesty, try him out.
Mr. Darcy. Yours entirely.
What is going on is not especially mysterious: you expressed hurt, and he answered it not with reassurance, but with withdrawal.
A man may forget, be thoughtless, or fail in small domestic courtesies without malice. That is one matter. But refusing to speak after you showed disappointment is another. It suggests one of three things: he feels accused and is sulking, he wishes to punish you for having a need, or he lacks the maturity to bear even mild conflict.
The dinner itself is not the true issue. The true issue is this: you were hurt by an act that made you feel unconsidered, and instead of addressing that plainly, he has made your hurt into a burden you must now manage.
That is poor conduct.
Now, to be fair, your disappointment may have landed on him as criticism rather than sadness. If you spoke sharply, he may have felt attacked. But even then, a person of good sense does not disappear into silence. He says, “I did not mean to hurt you,” or, “I feel criticised, but let us discuss it properly.” He does not retreat and leave you anxious.
So what does his behaviour likely mean?
It likely means this was not about food at all. It touched something larger:
he may already feel defensive in the relationship,
he may resent expectations he has not admitted,
or he may be using avoidance as his preferred weapon whenever discomfort arises.
None of those possibilities is encouraging unless he is willing to face them honestly.
Do not chase him, plead, or over-explain yourself. When he does speak, be calm and exact:
“Dinner was not the whole point. I felt unconsidered, and then you shut me out instead of speaking to me. I need a partner who can address disappointment without avoiding me.”
That is the standard. Not whether he cooks. Whether he can repair.
If this is a pattern, take it seriously. A household cannot be built with someone who turns silent whenever they are asked to account for themselves. Occasional thoughtlessness can be corrected. Habitual avoidance is a character problem.
Tell me this: is this the first time he has withdrawn when you were upset with him?
