I just turned 40 and have had spondylolisthesis since I was a teenager. It's my L5 S1 region and throughout time has progressed to grade 2 (on the cusp of grade 3). I finally worked up the courage to move forward with surgery, as PT is not helping and I have daily, debilitating symptoms. Surgery at this point is unavoidable as slippage continues to increase over time. My surgeon will be performing ALIF to treat the damaged disc and fusion for stability. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips to make recovery easier, or personal success stories that can help ease my nerves? I've never had major surgery like this so I would love to hear your positive experiences 💛
