Hey guys,

Looking for some advice.

I’ve got a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD with 230k miles, located in New York. I have a lot going on soon, I have a kid on the way and I’m selling my house and moving across the state, so I’m trying to get ahead of some truck work now before things get busy.

My plan is to pull the bed off so I can clean out the fuel tank since it’s never been done, replace the fuel filter, and clean up and repaint the frame while I have everything off.

While looking things over I noticed one of my crossmembers is pretty much shot from rust, so I figured now is the time to deal with it.

I normally do all my own work, but I can’t weld because I have a defibrillator, so this is one job I would have to pay someone to do.

I’m just trying to get a ballpark idea.

If I show up with the bed already off and the frame cleaned and prepped, what would be a fair price to have someone cut out and weld in a new crossmember,

If anyone has had similar work done on these trucks I would appreciate hearing what you paid or what I should expect.

Thanks
