Your go-to techniques for creative ideas?

Hi,

I am writing my first book. I don't really know how to write, didn't study literature or sth but I really want to write a book since I was little.

My hobbies also include book binding and I always picture printing the pages of my first book and binding them into a finished book (for myself). It is more like a soul project. Of course, it would be very nice to get it published if it turns out good but it is not a priority.

Any advice on getting creative ideas to continue the story as you go? Any questions you ask yourself? Any imagination games?

How do you introduce characters? How do you switch to the next day? etc.
