I have a minor (age 16) heading on a school exchange from Canada to Australia. They will be flying back on their own through Sydney airport and options seem to be limited for flights so I'm looking for advice on the safest way for them to have a solo overnight at or near the airport. Here is the scenario:

arrive in the domestic terminal at 6:45 pm.

next flight out not until 9 am international terminal.

from what I've read, staying overnight in the airport is not an option we want.

Does anyone know of hotels connected to the airport that would allow a minor travelling solo to stay there? or other suggestions for safe travel?
