A YA fantasy (?) series in which a character has germaphobia and wants to wash their hands all the time
I would have read this in the 00s. I don't know the original language of the series. I read it in Finnish, in Finland but I'm pretty sure it was translated from another language.
I don't really remember what happened in the books but IIRC there was a group of youngsters who got transferred into an alternate universe or something. Either way, the setting was kind of gritty and scary.
What I do remember is that one boy had some sort of germaphobia. He would have wanted to wash his hands constantly but wasn't able to because of the situation they were in so he was really suffering. I'm also pretty sure someone peed their pants because they were scared.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
