7 months post op. Can’t feel my upper teeth

I’m almost 7 months post-op from DJS with a 2-piece lefort, and I still can’t feel my teeth on the side where I had the segmentation.

It feels weird biting into things, just disconnected and plastic-y. I can feel my gums ok. Sensation in my palate is back pretty much everywhere.

It’s just my teeth that I’m concerned about. I am worried it may be related to my nonunion.

If you had a 2-3 piece lefort, when did your teeth go back to feeling normal?

2-Piece Le Fort: When did tooth/palate sensation return?

Hi, this question is for people who had segmentation with their Le Fort (2-piece or 3-piece).

I’m almost 7 months post-op from DJS with a 2-piece Le Fort. I had segmentation on the right side to expand the arch.

The left side of my palate and teeth are pretty much back to normal sensation-wise. On the right side, though, I still get tingling every day, and sometimes it feels tight/stretchy when I yawn or move my jaw. Most of the right side of my palate has feeling back except for one patch.

What worries me most is that my upper right front incisors and premolar still don’t feel normal. Biting into things feels strange, almost like a “plastic” or disconnected feeling.

For anyone who had segmentation:

- How long did it take for the nerves in your teeth/palate to feel normal again?

- Did you have that weird disconnected/plastic feeling?

- Did sensation continue improving after 6–7 months?

- Anything that helped nerve recovery?

Would really appreciate hearing other experiences. Thank you.
