What is the best legal way to sabotage an open house next door?
Background details.
We have lived in our house for over 12 years. When we bought the house we were told the driveway was ours but the neighbors had right of egress to access their backyard. The houses were kit houses built by brothers in the 50's and presumably shared the driveway but when one sold the other retained sole parking rights.
Fast forward to us and our neighbors always respected the agreement we were told. There were a lot of underlying circumstances at play here but the end of the story is she died in the house and the city condemned the place. Her kid is tasked with selling it or fixing it and that is how we came to meet Geoff and his flipping property management company.
On new years day they were knocking on our door having just taken ownership 4 days before asking to use the driveway for their dumpster. We said we would think about it, but being winter we didnt want to loose our off street parking.
Geoff ripped all the bushes out of their front yard and dropped the dumpster right there. We were then constantly harassed to move our cars from the driveway and or the street to accommodate dropping off and picking up 8 different dumpsters over a few weeks time.
The house was hoarded. As in it took authorities several hours to remove her body after she died. Two Shepards and a Maltese also lived in the house but never went outside. Only one dog left alive. Geoff and this company made promotional videos standing inside the house, on the hoard, gagging and spitting up while bragging they will buy any house in any condition.
Geoff decided to get a survey to try and prove ownership of the driveway for his property. He ended up finding out due to a divorce proceeding with wording about the properties that the driveway was no ones. Both parties could egress but none could park. That was the only formal agreement in writing. Nothing about maintenance or upkeep, or why our property took on the assessment and tax for 3 off street parking spots.
There was no professional mold mitigation done and they covered up old wet and crumbling siding with new. I have pictures. I worry who ever buys this house is going to have mold and mildew problems within a year.
The house is done now, after 4 months of constant bullshit from them and the open house is this weekend. How do we mess with them legally and make it hard to sell the property? We would love nothing more than for them to have to sit on this for months and lose money on the property.
We have contemplated signage on our lawn with the picture receipts of what the house looked like. We have thought about throwing a party to make sure there is no street parking to be had. I invited my partner over to play music with his amp. Weed is legal here and we partake, do we smoke them out? Basically give me all the legal annoying things neighbors do that would make you not want to live next to us. 😆
TLDR; House next door was bought by developers and they kicked us out of our driveway of 12 years. Have been assholes for 4 months and now we want to sabotage their open house so the property won't sell.
