People leaders: Please remember that interviews are also forums where the applicant is interviewing you and your respective department. If you attend an interview in a t-shirt or show up late, this is a reflection that you probably should not be in the position you’re in. Also, for salary level penetration; if you are willing to bring someone in under twenty percent penetration and not willing to fight for your people, you are setting both the company and the applicant up for failure. This is also a reflection on you that you should not be a people leader. Start making investment in your people and start fighting for them!
HR/TA IMO is single handedly ruining this company. Our hiring and retention process is completely broken. Why isn’t each candidate that is being made an offer, given an analysis for experience, achievements and recognitions to form the basis of said offer? These blanket percentage increases as a standard, don’t work. Again, offering someone under twenty percent penetration for a new salary level is incentivizing people to leave the company to go work at a competitor for a better salary. Having someone screen resumes who has no idea of the responsibilities of functions, doesn’t add much to the process. Lastly, HireVue is a joke; stop using it.
Please start being proactive. Attrition in this company is largely due to poor leadership, poor salaries and an incompetent HR/TA. Let’s start turning this around please.
