Writing the LOI/cover letter for every job application usually takes lots of time.
A few years ago I got this experience, so just few days ago I build a small project to solve this routine.
The idea is to generate a draft cover letter based on a job description and your background/skills/expertice. At the same time, the letter must align with German application conventions and recruiter expectations, instead of generic LLM AI text.
I talked to job coaches I know personally to understand where people struggle most with cover letters and applications.
Right now I’m trying to validate whether this solves a real problem or whether people would still rather write everything manually.
So I’m curious:
How much time do you spend adapting cover letters per application?
Do you even use Anschreiben anymore, or do recruiters ignore them?
Would a tool like this (cover letter generator) be useful at all?
Please share your honest opinions (including criticism), as German job market is very specific in this sense and any experience is very valuable for me to understand if I should move on with my idea or give up.
