Triggered by Zepbound
Is it possible that Zepbound triggered/caused my IIH? I started 2.5mg of Zepbound in January and was on that dose for 8 weeks. A couple weeks after starting I noticed ear fullness and a tightening / lump feeling in my throat. Saw an ENT and all looked go. He didn’t even see reflux. I then moved to 5mg of zep for another month and still didn’t experience any bad symptoms or side effects, so Dr moved me to 7.5 and my first shot was April 8. By April 11, I had the worst head and skull pain, pain in the right eye, blurry vision in the right eye, nausea, and it lasted for days and days with no relief. April 15 I had an MRI and MRV and Angiogram which showed IIH, stenosis and half empty sella and my eye pain was worse so my primary sent me to the ER. At the ER they checked my eyes and there was no swelling, so they said I must not have IIH and no need for a LP. Then I saw a neurologist post ER a week later who said I check most of the boxes for IIH. I’m getting a second opinion with a different neurologist tomorrow and seeing a neuro ophthalmologist.
I’m wondering if your symptoms come and go. One day my neck will be throbbing, I’ll have numbness between my shoulder blades, eye pain and a headache, dizziness, but then the next day I’ll just have a slight headache. Is that normal, or are you always in some kind of terrible pain?
