it seems so easy to secure a stable career in psych

i recently started using reddit more often than before. and all i see in this sub is people complaining or whining about lack of job opportunities or their self doubts w psychology. seeing that, i realised that half of the people or even more than half, are simply losing it all before they even get the opportunity to do smth. the scepticism, lack of interest and passion clearly shows in the way people just decide to shift fields w an unsatisfactory score or seeing other people who couldn't do well due to any xyz reason.

apparently, it feels like those who are truly passionate for this subject can easily excel in the field bcs half of the people are already discouraged, lol.

and while i do not mean to disregard anyone's situation with this. building a career in this field can be tough, but definitely not impossible or useless like how people talk. people are losing it, even before trying, they lack the will power, the courage to take independent steps. with this lack mindset, those who have it all, need to just be consistent, enthusiastic, and most importantly have high self esteem to establish a good position for themselves.

it feels irksome seeing people doing the same, every now and then. atleast people can work upon to get some clarity about what they truly desire for themselves, if they can do justice by choosing the subject. they just need to sit down, do a self talk, discuss with professionals, and then decide??

the highest score is 268, around 20-30 people have scored 250-260, then there r more people who've scored 240+, including myself. I've scored 243 despite being someone from a non psych background. and idt that's an avg score in any way (everyone who has scored above 240 has already done an above avg thing i believe) yet i feel disappointed. given my 100%, been studying from nov 2025. then i see people who've studied for 2 months, scoring 250+ or even above. this genuinely made me doubt my true potential, about what do i lack?

also, w universities changing their eligibility criteria here & now, makes me feel so unlucky. last year i had appeared for CUET PG as well, didn't score well as i didn't study well bcs initially i wanted to take a drop to do a bridge course for getting into TISS, but during their admission counseling they had released an addendum, acc. to which even non psych people were eligible to get in their course (and surprisingly no one i talked to from TISS or even people who appeared for last year's CUET, knew about it). i didn't get in at last, also dropped the idea of doing a bridge course bcs TISS had changed eligibility and i was already eligible for DU.

now acc. to the new brochure, TISS has again changed their eligibility to only allowing psych people to pursue their course, and DU has also done the same. i feel so shitty and so unlucky. when i had the chance i didn't study, and now when i've scored good enough, things aren't working in my favour and i'm feeling disappointed.
