One of my friend’s favorite character is always the animal sidekick. I recently got into woodcarving as a hobby and decided to carve her a likeness of her one true love ✨Abraxos✨
The staining didn’t turn out as nice as I had hoped but I’m excited to share him with you all anyway!
First timer here! This is the second piece that I have carved. It is a sleeping dragon. I’m looking to give him a darker finish/stain but am not sure what the best method would be.
He is made of basswood. I did sand it and use a dremel for the details. I am worried that various finishes may take unevenly. There are a lot of small nooks and crannies and hard to reach spots, so I don’t know that a wax would be a good idea either. I am afraid of paint but am open to it if that is the best option.
