So my friend and I had some argument about the southern enchantment song. She said that men who hears it will only follow the mermaid. I said that it will also make a man fall in love with the mermaid and she disagree.

I showed her these canon evidence:

1. Official Description of the Episode: "Disaster strikes when David hears the song and falls in love with Nixie..."

2. Rita and Nixie's conversation at the end of the episode:

Rita: "All you need to know is love casts its own spell" Nixie: "Well, that's what it does. I am so glad that I can't sing"

I bet David only falls in love with Nixie rather than Sirena because he saw Nixie first while being enchanted.
