"Just don't pick up the blue items" - The current state of couch coop loot

With loot filters disabled in couch co-op, the game becomes incredibly frustrating to play. This single boss drop took us nearly 15 minutes to sort through, pick up, salvage, portal back to town, and then return to continue playing. That kind of interruption completely kills the pacing and turns what should be a rewarding moment into a tedious and exhausting chore.

We were extremely disappointed to find out that loot filters are disabled in couch co-op mode. What kind of joke is this?

This was never communicated anywhere. There is not a single mention that loot filters are only available for solo players. I paid for this feature just like everyone else did—so why are we not allowed to use it?

Diablo 4 has completely separate loot systems for each player. How is it even possible that each player can’t have their own loot filter?

This genuinely makes me angry. Couch co-op players are treated like complete garbage.

  • We can’t play the Citadel
  • We can’t use Mercenaries as companions
  • In Helltide, the second player never sees how many Cinders they have (this bug has existed since base game launch!)
  • When tempering in couch co-op, you have to reselect the item after every temper because the UI freezes and re-tempering becomes impossible
  • If one player interacts with an object that triggers a text popup, the other player cannot input anything during that time (even in combat!)
  • You HAVE to pick up every item because targeted pickup with a controller is barely possible, which makes loot filters especially essential for couch co-op
