Hey all,
I have been dealing with MCAS for a while now and got tired of having to search all over the place every time I wanted to know whether a food was safe or not. I started building a little web app to keep everything in one place and it has grown into something I think others here might actually find useful. I was wondering if I am allowed to share the web app here or not.
It is completely free, no login required, and works on your phone or computer.
What it includes right now:
Food Search -- Hundreds of foods rated Safe, Caution, or Avoid with explanations for each one. Not just a list, it tells you why a food is a problem, what the histamine concern is, and what a safer alternative might look like. Organized by category so you can browse or just search for whatever you are about to eat.
Meal Guide -- Popular meals across 12 cuisines broken down by their ingredients. So if you are about to order something at a restaurant or cook a recipe you are unsure about, you can pull it up and see what the triggers are, what parts of the dish are actually fine, and how to modify it.
Symptom Tracker -- A form you fill out after a reaction. Date, time, severity, symptoms, everything you ate in the past 48 hours, medications, notes. When you submit it generates a report you can save as a PDF or email to yourself to bring to your allergist.
I am still adding to it and it is not perfect, but I figured it was better to share it now than wait until it feels finished. If you find anything wrong or think something important is missing please let me know. I would rather have real feedback from people who actually deal with this every day.
Anyway, hope it helps someone else.
