How should I deal with a Health Insurance and Selbständtig Einkommen?
Hello. My wife and I are both not from Germany but have lived here for several years. In 2022-2023, my wife started working some self-employed contracts, while still maintaining a 50 percent contract with an organization from which her health insurance payment was take out from. We recently realized that she should have submitted Steuerbescheid for her self-employment to the health insurance company for 2022, 2023, and 2024 (to which we just received the Bescheid a month ago). I understand that people have four calendar years to provide correct Einkommen information to the Krankenversicherung and this was not done intentionally, but an oversight by us. My question is, how do we best do this so we don't get receive a large bill from the insurance? We know we will must pay several thousands of Euros, that is correct, we only would like to avoid paying all of it at once.
