Do these exist? I was listening to a bay curious episode which claimed there were small pocket stands of coastal redwoods in the Berkeley Hills prior to colonization. I also once came across a save the redwoods map which showed redwoods in the Berkeley Hills. I’ve been running around the trails but all the redwoods I’ve come across are planted. I haven’t come across any stumps either.

I haven’t explored ebmud land. I already know about the beautiful Redwood canyons in Oakland, but was there ever anything in Berkeley?

Edit to include excerpt from bay curious:
“In his book Trees in Paradise, historian Jared Farmer writes by the mid 1850s, San Francisco had exhausted the easy-to-reach redwood, including pocket stands in the Berkeley Hills.”
