Open Discussion…Hot Take?
I was rewatching some of the contestant floorshows from their seasons, and I had a thought. I genuinely believe the top 4 of Season 4 is stronger *on their season* than the top 4 of Season 2.
I do think, considering overall bodies of work, Season 2 is hands down the most talented and entertaining Dragula cast we will ever get. However, on their respective seasons, I feel as though S4 takes a slight edge in terms of their top 4.
Biqtch is very much an underrated winner, but simply bc Victoria is just Dragula excellence, and Abhora, at their best *and their worst* truly represents everything Dragula stands for.
On S2 tho, there was just no way they were going to crown Abhora. And Ik Swan has mentioned on the pod really wanting to “crown a villain” and used James on S2 as their example, but I think an ending where both Biqtch and Victoria weren’t crowned and James was would be…kinda disappointing?
But on S4, I legitimately believe the Boulets could’ve crowned any single one of their top 4, and the season would’ve felt satisfying.
Almost every one of them you could argue was “robbed” at some point in the competition, but often just by how incredible the other top 4 were during those weeks, usually. Sigourney’s Monster of Rock (and maybe a little bit Killer Clowns, tho Dahli’s was amazing), Hoso’s Other Mother and final floor shows. Saint’s (in)famous Ghoulship Glamour. And Dahli’s hairy troll was incredible, especially for an Artist that usually doesn’t wear hair (tho again, Hoso was also amazing that week)
But this is obviously just an opinion, and I’d love to hear what others think, is this a hot take or lukewarm at best?
