Since having our first child (1.5 years old) we moved to a US city that does not have an international airport. We had planned to do Hawaii but it’s looking like a double or triple flight and a 16-20 hour journey + time change from our new location.
Currently located in a small east coast city, travelled extensively prior to having kids, and would like to go somewhere new if abroad outside the US. For our first babymoon we stayed at the Belmond in Taormina and really enjoyed it - unfortunately to return to Sicily from our new location would require 3 flights now.

Is there any exotic, luxury, family friendly unique experiences you have had which would be accessible with a direct flight from an east coast international airport?

Would love to hear how people have adapted travel locations to accommodate less connecting flights for families!
