Why did Skynet sent the W-1000 Terminator to Albuquerque of all places??
If I recall right everything surrounding John Connor and the Resistance took place in the greater L.A. area so this seems like a pointless diversion. Probably to sell action figures.
Right from the start I noticed the Giant Hogweed plants in the wilderness. I think it's an interesting little detail and maybe this is the first game to have that specific plant in digital form. I instantly recognized them because around where I live they are one of the most dangerous plants by far.
There is something a little "off" about them though. According to this dev they included it just for fun: https://www.reddit.com/r/dyinglight/comments/1nspq4e/comment/ngpfium/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I fully believe them and it's an answer straight from the horse's mouth. Their placement however seems deliberate and I think their spawning behavior is randomized, aside from some fixed spawns. They are always in weird, creepy areas at the most extremes of the map: either on the tallest mountains or in the very, very corners where no missions ever lead. I'm not sure how well you guys explored the western and northern (the upper and left map corner) map borders but that general area has the biggest concentrations of Giant Hogweed. It just seems off to specifically place these special plants in an area that is basically completely empty of content. It's not only the map borders though. The hogweeds also spawn in many very remote nooks and crannies in the southern mountains.
I don't know, I'm probably completely overthinking some trivial thing and we literally have a dev explaining why these plants are in the game. I'm still saying that their spawn locations and whole thing are weirdly deliberate for the fact that they just supposed to be a funny little thing. It's the only "interactable" plant that doesn't give you a resource but is also not just passive setdressing, instead causing surprisingly much damage to the player. Then the whole placement thing: the devs obviously didn't just press left click on random areas of the map like one would do when placing generic grass or bush models.
Tl;dR: Giant Hogweed is creepy
