I kept applying and getting basically nothing back, so I started wondering if my resume was the problem or if the job market just hates everyone equally.
I tried BetterCV mostly for the ATS check. My resume looked fine to me, but the report flagged a few dumb things I wouldn’t have noticed myself: weird formatting, some weak bullet points, and a couple sections that were probably too vague.
I changed a few lines, cleaned up the layout, and it does look better now. Not saying this magically gets you interviews overnight, obviously. But it was useful as a second pair of eyes, especially if you’ve been staring at the same resume for too long.
Has anyone else tried BetterCV or any other ATS checker? Did it actually help with callbacks, or just make the resume look cleaner?
