Would you play a psychological horror VN that looks like this? "Saraab"

Hey everyone,

I’m the solo developer behind "Saraab: beyond the veil", a psychological horror visual novel about Elham, whose brother is kidnapped. This sets off a chain of events that uncovers a buried family secret and forces her onto a path of healing and self‑discovery.

These are some updated screenshots from the upcoming demo.

I’d really appreciate your feedback on the art:

- Would this art style catch your eye and make you want to check out the demo?

- What’s your first impression of the tone from these screenshots?

I deliberately wanted a more realistic, painted style rather than anime, and have been working closely with the artist since last summer to get the characters expressions and mood to convey that.

Most of the horror elements will be more prominent in the full game, so I’m a bit worried these shots might make it look more like a drama than horror.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

First time collaborating with a musician on my psychological horror VN main theme- here is how it went

I worked with a professional musician to orchestrate the main theme for my VN Saraab.

While all of the OST is composed and produced by me, as a beginner in the field I knew I needed professional help with the orchestration of the track. Mainly because I do not have that knowledge yet. But I will be studying it in more depth afterwards because composing has become my favourite part of game development.

So I looked through Fiverr for game music ads till I found one particular to orchestrating which is what I needed. The musician used a different DAW to what I composed on so instead of sending the session, I sent all individual tracks and the full track.

The musician asked for reference tracks and the music sheet for the track. That surprised me because I did start my composition on paper first but that is not something that other people might have. Overall it was everything I wished for. I would love to hear your thoughts.

TLDR : I had a positive experience collaborating with a professional musician to orchestrate the main theme of my game.
