Air Fryer “Fried” Calamari

Made calamari in the air fryer and it actually came out tender and crunchy — no deep fryer needed.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium calamari, sliced into rings
  • Flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Salt
  • Panko
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Dip the calamari rings in flour → egg + salt → panko.
  2. Lay them in the air fryer tray in one layer.
  3. Spray with olive oil from a few angles so the coating gets covered.
  4. Air fry at 330°F for 18 minutes, no preheat.(turn halftime)
  5. Once they’re golden brown-ish and crispy, they’re done.

Air Fryer Sardines

Fresh sardines are already flavorful, so I just keep it light with olive oil, black pepper and salt — then squeeze a little lemon over the fish once it’s done.

Ingredients

  • Fresh whole sardines, cleaned
  • Olive oil
  • Sea salt
  • Black pepper
  • Lemon

Instructions

  1. Lightly coat the sardines with olive oil.
  2. Season with sea salt, black pepper and any extra spices you like.
  3. Air fry at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping once, until the skin is lightly crisp.

Just a heads-up: sardines do have a strong aroma, so I cleaned the tray right after cooking. A little cleanup, but totally worth it for the flavor.
