Hey everyone,

I’d like some advice from people with more experience than me.

I recently bought the Elgato Wave Mic Arm Pro for my setup (I use a Shure MV7 + webcam for YouTube videos, reactions, gameplay, etc.).

From a quality standpoint, I already know it’s a big upgrade compared to my current arm (~30€), which:

drifts over time

squeaks

loses position

is generally annoying to adjust

So quality isn’t my concern.

👉 My real question is about space and practicality.

My setup is:

relatively small desk

monitor in front of me (I need a clear view while gaming/editing)

fully home setup (not a dedicated studio)

What I need:

mic around 10–15 cm from my mouth

stable position (no constant readjusting)

mic slightly visible on camera (for a more “professional” look)

but without blocking my screen or getting in the way

👉 So my question is:

Was this a good choice for a small/limited space setup?

Or is it “overkill” and I should have gone with something like a low-profile arm instead?

If anyone is using this arm in a similar setup, I’d really appreciate your feedback 🙏

Thanks!
