Morning folks!

Need some help in know what's wrong with this and what part needs to be replaced.

Since yesterday the screen was suddenlty unresponsive to touch on a straight horizontal line. I did leave my phone in the bathroom while taking a hot shower so that could be a possible cause. I opened paint and looks like I can still draw vertical lines

Originally though this was a hardware issue. But now that I see it does register touch, is it software? Or is it just smart enough to connect the lines.

For the part needing to be replaced, will that keep face ID functionality or are there more parts for that?

P.S. I have a screen protector on right now.
