Action, Lust, And Danger!
Hey all!
I'm still relatively new to historical romance, but I've been really obsessed with highland romances because of the action filled plots and circumstances where protecting the FMC is necessary and I'm looking for more stories with these tropes.
when the MMC has a group of friends or family who either right away or not long after meeting grow protective of her too and maybe even have their own little crushes on her.
when the FMC has danger dogging her. Her family, fiancee, a group or person she's involved with some other way, another man obsessed... I'm not so worried what the danger is so long as there's something putting the MMC on edge and keeping him over protective of her.
some type of travel, preferably on horses. I really like scenes where she's too tired, cold, or sick to ride and has to ride with him.
Lust and love. I want at least the MMC to feel attraction quickly, even if he just keeps saying "love? Ha! I would never love her, but damn if I can't keep my eyes away and keep thinking of kissing her."
They don't necessarily have to hit all four points but all the better if they do!
Some books I've read and really loved with these themes so far are The Bride, The Prize, The Secret, and Ransom all by Julie Garwood, Captured By The Highlander by Julianne MacLean, Falling For The Highlander and Highland Treasure by Lynsay Sands, and Never Seduce A Scot by Maya Banks.
The books don't necessarily have to be highland stories but I really can't deny that I seem to enjoy them most. Oh! And I prefer spice on any level, but the more the better in my opinion.
