The last month or so, I have been fed up enough to the point of telling a couple students that I want this year to be my last... forgetting that students talk. Fast forward to today when someone on the admin team mentioned my not participating in graduation, citing she's heard some things. I asked if she meant my daughter since I missed last year's ceremony because of no childcare, then she mouthed "last year". I knew what she meant, but I acted like she was referring to last year's graduation until she elaborated. Then I told her nonchalantly that I let kids know that I don't know if I'm coming back because of my desire to homeschool.
I was going to wait until summer to see what my options are, but now I kinda feel a sense of urgency to get out in the next month or so to give a clear answer and to give sufficient notice.
