Hello everyone,

I’d like to ask for some advice. What could have caused this kind of damage to the tire?

The tires are mounted on a Citroën C5 X7, model year 2011. The damaged tire is the front right one, viewed from the driver’s seat. The other tires are in good condition. I’ve attached a photo of the other front tire as well. The tires are Hankook, a winter set, DOT 4322. All of them are identical, but only one is damaged like this.

Yesterday, the wheel alignment was done on the car, and no major deviations from factory specs were noticed. I don’t drive over curbs, I don’t drive on gravel roads, and the approach to my house is about 20 meters of gravel which is fairly compacted. I don’t drive fast or aggressively, since this car isn’t really meant for that. I’ve had the car for about 6 months; I bought it with this set of tires, and I suspect the damage may have existed even before I started driving it.

Please help, as I’ve bought a new set of Dunlop summer tires that weren’t exactly cheap, and I’d like to avoid this happening again.

Thank you!
