I feel like this is gonna be an unpopular opinion but I wonder if anyone felt the same?
I've really enjoyed Carole in her first couple of seasons, she's a nice grounded contrast to the other ladies and she's also light-hearted and silly. However S7 Carole was a bit of a weird vibe to me... Her plotlines are just talk about dead husband, enter relationship with a guy half her age, avoid writing her book, and kind of sit on a pedestal commenting on everyone else's behavior. Granted it's not hard to do that with people like Ramona around... But still, I feel like if you're gonna have a midlife crisis on screen you need to at least have a bit of humility, like as messy as Sonja is she kind of acknowledges that she's a mess.
Maybe I will relate to this plotline more one day LOL, but idk I felt like some of her intelligence and self awareness which I was really drawn to went out the window. In my opinion the relationship is a little bit drawn out, like how much of his youth are you going to take before you acknowledge it's a dead end relationship? I think it bothers me more because she's kind of acting like a giddy schoolgirl. Part of me thinks she needs this for her healing era but IMO when you date someone older than you they should impart something that acknowledges they are ahead of you in life and have something to teach you. All we really see is her being treated like a high school sweetheart, it's like girl you're 50... But of course you never know how it goes off screen, I only know the few minutes they show per episode.
I'm interested what y'all think? Please don't down vote me this is just my opinion from my first time watching RHONY.
