Hey everyone,

I’m currently replacing my old Behringer mixer and am struggling to find the right solution for my setup.
My goal is to build a long-term hybrid studio setup for jamming dawless + recording into Ableton, without buying something now that I’ll outgrow in a year.

Current gear:
- Roland TR-09
- Roland TB-03
- Roland JU-06A
- Arturia Minibrute 2S
- Vintage Keys Plus
- PC / Ableton output

additional synths planned :-)

Current interface:
Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 MK2

What I’m looking for:
- lots of stereo inputs (this is probably the biggest priority)
- small desktop footprint (limited desk space)
- good audio quality (clear upgrade over old Behringer)
- hands-on workflow for live jamming
- ideally some FX routing / sends
- integrated multitrack interface would be amazing, but not mandatory
- should scale well as I add more synths

Important:
Most of my gear is stereo, so many traditional small mixers feel inefficient because they’re too mono-focused.

Use case:
I want all synths permanently connected if possible, be able to jam without constant repatching, and still have a clean path into Ableton for recording.

Mixers / concepts I’ve considered:
- Tascam Model 12
- Yamaha MG12X
- Intellijel Jellymix
- Teenage Engineering TX-6
- Bastl Bestie
- Tascam LM-8ST
- Samson SM10
- modular approach (main mixer + stereo submixer)

Right now I’m leaning toward something like:
Tascam Model 12 + Samson SM10
That would give me:
multitrack recording
more stereo synth inputs
compact enough footprint

Budget:
Flexible, but I care a lot about value. I’m happy to spend more if it genuinely solves the problem long term.

Main question:
If you were building a compact hybrid synth studio with lots of stereo gear, what mixer / routing setup would you choose?
Would really appreciate real-world experience from people running similar setups.
Thank you so much in advance!
