Akai Katana Shin on Steam - how much input delay should I be getting?

Just grabbed Akai Katana Shin on Steam after having on Switch, was surprised to see that input delay felt as bad or slightly worse than it did on Switch, across multiple PCs.

Every comment online I've seen seems to indicate that it should be much better on Steam than on Switch, but I'm bizarrely seeing the opposite - did something happen to one of these releases that improved/worsened it since release or does it take a very particular kind of configuration to see better input delay on the Steam version? As is it's basically the highest input delay of any shmups I currently have on Steam.

I have some Audioengine A5s paired with an S8 subwoofer - I kinda don’t love the sound, I find they’re a bit muddy and lacking in detail. I think I’m a treble head more than anything, my headphones of choice a the moment are the TRUTHEAR x Crinacle ZERO:BLUE2.

Is there much that can be done with these to tweak them more to my liking? I’m using them with my PC / MacBook and Nintendo Switch docked so a one platform EQ probably isn’t going to be enough, are there hardware EQ options worth looking into?

I’m happy to throw in the towel and admit I’ve bought the whole speakers for my tastes if needed but just checking if there’s anything that can be done in the meantime.

I just got my Fightbox R10 Pro and I'm now planning on what to swap the buttons out with. On the sides it uses 24mm buttons for pinball use, it's my understanding that pinball buttons are traditionally convex and use leaf-style buttons which are much larger - what would be a good substitute for these?

I've got a bunch of spare Crown 24mm buttons that use MX switches so I can use them with a particular switch that would approximate the feel, alternatively I've seen concave plungers available for Sanwa 24mm buttons but I think they don't ship to Australia where I am.
