I’m replacing a deck off the back of our house. I went through the design process but can’t afford the engineering phase currently. Attaching the deck to the standard stick frame house is one obstacles I have yet to figure out. Has anyone tackled this problem before.
Normally you put up a ledger board and hang the joist from that. Treating the timbers like a ledger board is possible but I wish I could minimize or hide the bolts to give a cleaner look.
What have others done in this situation?
Thanks!
