Costco Charcoal
Tldr: Costco’s store brand charcoal is more for your buck and the quality is just as good if not better than Kingsford.
So I’ve been smoking for years now and pretty much use Kingsford charcoal. It’s been reliable and never failed me. As beef prices continue to increase, I’m looking for ways to cut costs.
I noticed Costco sells 30lb bags of Charcoal briquettes for $13 bucks. I’ve been using them for grilling, and this past weekend decided to try them out for a brisket smoke. Well over 22hrs later, my smoker was still holding 225 no problem, off of about 3/4 of the bag. This is about the same if not better than what I get using Kingsford.
