Accessory Building Height Detail

Accessory Building Height Detail

I’m building an accessory building at the end of my yard. The yard is terraced and I’ll be putting the building over the edge of the terrace and removing some of it to make it closer to grade. Here’s my current plan to manage the soil transition as it goes from terrace height to the off terrace height. Off terrace is 1ft down on the right side then sloping to about 6ft down on the left, with the beam in this image going left to right. Shown is the detail for the shortest pier. Would this work? For reference it’s an 8’ x 14’ building, so the beam is sized for a 7’ span and 6 piers total.

I’m considering maxing my 401k so that I can set up ladders. I have a bonus idea that since doing this will set me below the $96.7k MAGI limit for 0% long term gains tax for married/jointly, then I can fill all of that gap with stocks sales and effectively reset some of my basis. Im going to also do full Trad. IRA to give more room. The concern I have is if I overshoot then it’s a full 15% tax bill, but I think I can manage it closely and leave buffer. I have some variable income with Rental/Airbnb, which makes it a little tricky.

Any reason why this wouldn’t work? Or things to consider? This is effectively my plan for FIRE as well since my expenses fall below the 0% LTG threshold.

Edit: I just checked the flow chart again and it does mention tax harvesting, so I believe it’s the same idea. It also mentioned wash sales, which is a valid concern. Edit 2: Wash sales only apply for losses, so not applicable here.
