Jackets for Shorter Men
I've been building out a more intentional wardrobe lately and keep running into the same problem: jackets that are just a bit too long in the body or arms for my 5'8" frame.
My style is kind of a blend of European minimalism with some Colorado/outdoor utility mixed in. I mostly wear a size S, occasionally M depending on the brand.
I'm looking for something that actually fits a shorter guy well and is not sloppy at the hem and not swallowing the arms. Ideally something clean and versatile that still looks good zipped up.
A few reference points from my own experience:
- Madewell Service Jacket — length is really good on me
- J.Crew Harrington — length works, but I don't love the elastic cuffs and hem
- Relwen Windzip — love the quality and construction, but it runs a touch long/roomy
Has anyone around my height had good luck with specific brands or models off the rack? Brands that run shorter in the body or have a slightly cropped cut would be especially helpful.
