Are thin soles not good for concrete, or are my feet just weak?

So I have been wearing barefoot shoes for the past ~4 years now, and I've tried a bunch of different styles and brands. Lem's, Xero, Vivobarefoot, Wildlings, Be Lenka, even Softstars. What I find is that the thinner the shoe, the more my feet hurt after walking around town on concrete and asphalt. I love how free my feet feel in thin soles, but I can't just ignore the pain my feet are in.

My go to right now is a pair of Splay Freestyle 3, which don't cause me any pain, but are disappointingly on the thicker side (though thankfully not quite as thick as a pair of Lem's).

I feel kinda like I'm chasing a unicorn here.
