Cocodona
Probably not a fan favorite take but I think cocodona is massively overhyped. I think it’s cool and I like it in its own right, and the coverage of it is nice. Also has a community feel to it which is cool. But I keep hearing the media outlets in trail and ultra comparing it to western states or the early days of western states and I can’t help but think they’re just attempting to bolster the excitement of the race for their own gain (in terms of media engagement) since the race has such a substantial following. Especially given the fact it hasn’t been around that long. I just think it sounds forced when the media people try and hype up cocodona. Idk maybe that’s just me. But I think they try to oversell it and are all trying to cash in on it.
