I booked an appointment to go see a new doctor for my pcos/period issue last Monday. I haven’t had my period for 8 months. She suggested to put me on metformin and then sent me to go do a bunch of lab work and I thought she would prescribe me it last week/same day, but she didn’t. She wants me to go to a follow up appointment and didn’t follow up on MyChart about the PCOS/metformin after she got my lab work. Is this normal to not prescribe meds the day of for something like this?? I’m just frustrated bc the issue of my period/PCOS is what I originally booked my appointment for and it’s not being discussed until the follow up.
My results came back and I have high cholesterol and she only responded to that part, so I sent her a Mychart to remind her of why I originally booked the appointment for too. I see her on Monday so I guess I can wait but it’s been frustrating. Is it normal to book a follow up just to talk about labs? I didn’t have my physical exam yet and we could only do one or the other so I chose my PCOS. I don’t understand why she needs a follow up in person when she followed up on MyChart and explained the lab results, yet no acknowledgement of my PCOS.
