Has anyone combined their wedding and bachelor/bachelorette events when it was destination? My fiancé and I have mostly the same friend group as we went to college together so I thought it could be a good way to save on costs, people don't feel inclined to travel to multiple events, and just make a long weekend out of it. (Note - many of our friends don't live in the area we do and would be required to travel if we held it in our city regardless).

For example, if the wedding was on Saturday, we could have the bachelor/bachelorette party on Thursday at the resort. It would be optional of course. Would that be too hectic as a bride who is preparing for the destination wedding event? I'm in early stages of planning so I'm not sure how much is involved in the days leading up to the wedding or if that would be stressful for me?

Also for clarification we are in our late 30s so it's not like we are getting completely wild at the bach parties although my friend group is still quite fun at our age 😂

If anyone has done something like this or scheduled events prior to the wedding, would love to hear feedback.

ETA: apparently Welcome Parties are a thing so that's a great alternative. I haven't been to a destination wedding that had one so didn't know this was a thing. Thanks for the suggestions!

I saw someone else do this so thought it would be fun to post my KU wrapped for the month. I also read 4 physical books in April so usually the KU books I read are good palate cleansers in between heavier books.

Flawless & Heartless - part of the Chestnut Springs series. They were average romance books and quick reads. I likely won't be continuing the series, but I do understand the popularity of them! Just not really my thing.

Parallel & Intersect - my surprise of the month! It was romance, mystery, fantasy all in one. I had a really good time reading them. These are the first 2 books in a 4 book series, but the last 2 follow a different storyline.

Dear Debbie - my first Freida book and I was entertained the whole time. It was less thriller and more female rage, but I was obsessed with Debbie.
