Prisoner Cell Block H podcast (and how to get it 'out there')
Hi
I'm a big Prisoner Cell Block H fan, and have been since my early teens.
Because there's a shortage of podcasts in the world [sarcasm], I decided to start one dedicated to my favourite show - and now have a backcatalogue of about 30 episodes.
The podcast is a light-hearted one; hosted by me, with a different guest every time - ranging from experts to novices, and everything in-between.
The format is that we talk about the guest's history with the show, we provide a commentary on a random episode, discuss what we've just seen, have a quiz, then use AI* to generate a 'what if' scenario from the episode we just watched.
*I'm not a fan of AI in general, but don't mind abusing it for purely trivial purposes
It's quite formulaic on the whole, although I have done a few 'specials' to mix things up a bit, but it's found its own tiny niche, and the people who do listen do seem to enjoy it for the frivolous nonsense that it is.
The problem is that I don't really know how to make anyone outside the existing bubble of support aware of the show. I've created all the social media accounts but, if no one knows they exist, they have little impact or reach.
I released a new 'special' on Friday, and am really trying to push it as much as I can, as I'm sure there's a demographic out there who'd like it. It's a lot of fun to make and, even though the editing and production is a severe test of my very limited skills, I enjoy being able to put something out there for people to discover.
So please, if you have any advise on how to best utilise the internet to help me try to build an audience, it will be gratefully received. I don't have any interest in monetising the podcast - it's purely a labour of love, but it's a labour of love I'd like to share with as many people as possible.
I deliberately haven't linked to the podcast in here, as I wasn't sure about the rules on self-promotion, but can add them if it's allowed.
Thanks
